Block Interiors - Recovered

  Casa Elizalde Gardens
Carrer València, 302

At present this block interior, recovered in 1985, is the seat of one of the most active civic and cultural centres in Barcelona, where numerous cultural and leisure activities take place.

It is a small place that has a pergola and is decorated with canopies. It has kept an old-world feel and offers an unusual view of the backs of the Modernista buildings surrounding it.

Despite the transformations it has undergone, the Casa Elizalde, designed by Emili Sala in 1888, continues to be a fine example of the type of urban mansion favoured by the Catalan bourgeoisie at the end of the nineteenth century.
