This is the block interior that was the former home for the elderly run by the Little Sisters of the Poor. Protected by thick walls, the vegetation in the gardens is abundant and well established, with noisy parakeets fluttering about in the tops of the palm trees, hundred-year-old stone benches, new wooden benches, and in the middle an alabaster Virgin with a crown of stars.
